Since it seems everybody gives up after the first little lick ;) and I believe I've figured out what Pagey does right after that.. I don't know the whole solo note for note, as there's alot of noisy 'riffery'. But I can do that as well.. It was the technical problem of how to bend 'that' note. (see tab for 'that note') Incidentally, I've seen a few other posts of the very beggining, asnd the way I do it may not be correct, but it's not the problem area anyways :) E:------------------- B:------------------- G:--2--5^2^0--------- D:------------2^0---- a couple times A:-----------------3- E:------------------- E:-------- B:-------- G:--5^2^0- D:-------- a bunch of times then, the problem area.. :) A:-------- E:-------- E:----------- B:----------- G:--5b9^2^0-- D:----------- A:----------- E:----------- ^--that bend right there.. my pinky IS NOT strong enough to bend from 5 to 9 I doubt there are many in the world who's pinkies could do that nicely.. Eighther way, I don't believe Pagey had the miracle pinky.. :) I figure he was pressing the string down to left of the nut (between the nut and the tuning peg. He does this in other places as well (namely some cuts of live Dazed and Confused I've seen..) So, while you hammer down the 5^2^0 lick with your left hand only, take your right hand, and reach past your nut, and press down the g string every time your right hand plays the 5 (release for the 2^0) I've tried doing this on my Gibson, but there's not quite enough space between the string (after the nut) and the wood of the head of the guitar, so I can't quite get the bend high enough without bending the string as well as pushing it down behind the nut. This is easy to do on my Strat though. Kinda makes me wonder if Jimmy switched back to a tele just for the solo of this song. (as the solo itself was just an afterthought, and recorded after the song was finished..) (hmm then again it was supposedly one of the first things he recorded using a Marshall) (one would think he'd be using the Les Paul through the Marshall.. *shrug*) does anybody out there even care? heh :) well I hope some1 finds some use for this tab..
